Community Involvement...

The World Trade Association is very proud to work with a number of organizations to help serve our community.

Our two main community outreach programs are through our involvement in Autism Speaks and our Scholarship Program.  The WTA is also a sponsor and supporter of MADD, Mother's Against Drunk Driving.

One element of the World Trade Association's mission is to foster an understanding and appreciation of the "business of world trade" in our youth.

To this end, the WTA, led by Board Member Dominic O'Brien, has developed the Scholarship Program to award college-bound high school seniors with outstanding academic records who are in need of financial assistance a grant to allow them to further advance their careers in world trade and international affairs.

A portion of all WTA proceeds are set aside for these scholarships to ensure we are doing our part to help our future leaders of world trade.

Autism Speaks is a non-profit voluntary health organization dedicated to funding global biomedical research to determine the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for Autism.  Within the mission, Autism Speaks also strives to raise public awareness about Autism and its effects on individuals, familes and society.

1 in every 150 children is diagnosed with Autism which has rapidly become he most commonly diagnosed pervasive developmental disorder. Yet, Autism research receives substantially less funding than other childhood diseases.

Lead by WTA Board Member Anthony Cancelliere, the WTA is proud to be the second largest contributor to the Autism Speaks organization for our region.  Since our first event, the WTA and our supporters have raised nearly $113,000.

The Board of Directors of the WTA are strong supporters of a variety of organizations throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area.

Walk Like MADD (Mother's Against Drunk Driving), MADD’s signature walk, is a fun, community-driven 5K walk that raises funds and saves lives. Every step taken and pledge made will help raise funds and awareness for MADD’s programs and services that will serve to make our communities safer.

WTA Board of Director, Harvey Weiner, gave the WTA the opportunity to join him in his crusade to help this organization reach it's goals.
